MESA opens national team registration for Esports Nations Cup 2026

Mongolia has officially begun the process of forming its national esports team for the Esports Nations Cup 2026, with open registration now available for players and coaches.

The Mongolian Electronic Sports Association (MESA) announced that it will lead the selection of Mongolia’s national roster after being chosen as the country’s official partner for the event.

The Esports Nations Cup 2026, organized by the Esports World Cup Foundation, is scheduled to take place from November 2–29 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The tournament is expected to feature 16 game titles and a reported $20 million prize pool, making it one of the largest nation-based esports competitions ever held.

MESA opens national team registration

Registration open, selection to follow

MESA opens national team registration which is only an expression of interest, meaning applicants are not automatically selected to the national team. Final rosters will be determined through a formal selection process in the coming months.

The association is calling on players and coaches across Mongolia to apply, as it begins building lineups to represent the country on the international stage.

National format sets ENC apart

Unlike traditional esports tournaments, the Esports Nations Cup will feature national teams instead of club rosters. Each country will field one official team per title, with players selected based on performance rather than existing team structures.

At the finals, 24 to 48 national teams per title are expected to compete in team-based games, while solo events will include up to 128 players. Half of the participants will receive direct invitations based on results, while the rest will qualify through regional competitions.

Mongolia joins global expansion

The selected partners include both long-established esports organizations that have shaped their national scenes for decades, as well as emerging groups driving the next generation of competitive gaming. The full list of approved partners is available on the ENC website and will continue to be updated as additional selections are confirmed.

The Esports World Cup Foundation received more than 630 applications from over 150 countries. Among them, the Mongolian Electronic Sports Association (MESA) was chosen as Mongolia’s official partner—marking a significant step forward for the country’s presence in international esports.

The association will oversee player selection, team preparation, and local promotion of the tournament as part of its role.

Further details, including game titles and qualification pathways, are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
